     Kaillie "KB" Kelly                      Alexis Waggoner

Many of you know Kaillie (KB) and Alexis and we're excited to announce that both will be playing an even bigger role. KB is the L-S head coach and will be working directly with grades 1&2 and the 5/6 & 7/8 Select League teams. Alexis will be expanding on her role as SUDBURY GIRLS LACROSSE TRAINING DIRECTOR for grades 3-8. We're committing significant resources for this coaching expertise and we're excited to see the results on the field.

ABOUT KAILLIE

You know her as the L-S Coach, but there's a lot more. She's a 2x All-American player and national champion at Hamilton College and holds program records in goals, assists and points. KB is Founder & Director of Player Programming and Development for Central Lacrosse, former college coach and Canadian National team member, and has a Masters Degree in Exercise and Sports Science. She's got limitless energy and loves to train lacrosse players of all ages.

ABOUT ALEXIS

Alexis spent lots of time with our teams last spring. She played at Lawrence Academy in Groton, MA and went on to star at Division 3 Elmira College in Elmira, NY. Her first coaching gig was as assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Merrimack College from 2004-2007. In 2008 she was the Head Girls Lacrosse Coach at Austin Prep in Reading, MA. Then in 2009, Alexis became the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Randolph College in Lynchburg, VA for nine years. And along the way she worked camps at UVA and Washington & Lee among others. In addition to her working with us, she is a head coach for Central Lacrosse.

SPRING UPDATE

Hi Sudbury Girls Lacrosse Families,

Based on what we know today, the earliest we’ll be able to start any lacrosse activity is Monday, May 4. This is based primarily on: school closures, MIAA targeting May 4 as a start date for high school sports, and CDC guidelines recommending the cancellation of events of 50 or more. Note that the CDC is currently setting gathering restrictions through mid May. We will watch this closely.

Needless to say this is new territory for all of us — and terribly disappointing. We’ll be sure to communicate as we learn more.

In the event of a total season cancellation, we’ll offer as much of a refund as we are able. We’ve incurred expenses to this point such as uniforms, league team fees, Town of Sudbury field usage fees, etc. We certainly hope this does not happen, but please know we’ll do all we can. The various Sudbury sports groups (girls lacrosse, boys lacrosse, softball, baseball, etc.) are discussing how to best handle this as well. For situations of more dire need, you can contact me directly once life get’s back to normal and we know where we stand. We’ve never declined a request for assistance and we won’t start now.

We are actively working with our league and surrounding towns in an attempt to save any part of the season we can. Your ideas are welcome and please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Thanks for your patience and be well.
